How to get Windows Media Player, WinAmp and RealPlayer
for streaming media to work with Internet Explorer


In the Internet Explorer itself you cannot do anything to fix the problems.
You have to edit music programs to associate media types with players.
In here is just some pictures.
If you make changes as shown below in the pictures and restart your computer, it should work fine.

View -> Options -> Formats


WinAmp

Options -> Preferences -> Setup -> File Types


Options -> Preferences -> Setup -> Agent

RealPlayer (8 Basic)

View -> Preferences -> Upgrade -> Auto Restore Settings...
